Get ready for two days of Bear Watching adventure in West Serbia and amazing landscape of the Tara National Park.

The Tara National Park is the beautifull mountainous region of western Serbia that was declared as a National park in 1981.

Known for its beautiful peaks, thick forests, and deep caves, the park's highlight is the massive Drina River Gorge, where rafting and boat trips are organized. Also in its forests are many varieties of wild animals. Waterfalls within the national park are also part of its impressive beauty along the course of mountain rivers and streams.

The area is primarily important as a habitat for large carnivores such as brown bear. The bear is strictly protected wild species and in the park there is the largest population of them in Serbia, with a reproduction center in the country.

Over 80% of Tara NP is under dense forest with more than 1.000 plant species identified by now, including a rare relict and endemic tree species of the Balkan Peninsula, the Pančić Spruce, Serbian spruce (Picea omorica) originating from the Tertiary. Also, Tara Mountain is shelter for over 140 bird species, and 28 species of fish, and 58 mammals species, as well as the largest population of brown bear in Serbia.

In the area of Tara National Park there are 4 bear feeding grounds (used for its supplementary feeding) located 2, 3, 7 or 8 km from the closest settlements. Feeding grounds of bears are located in the Tara forest, equipped with feeder and wooden watching hide (small cottage for few people) with wildlife cameras around the site.
