Tour highlights: National park Fruska Gora, wine tasting, local food, local wineries, Sremski Karlovci buildings, surprise lunch.
Fruška Gora
Nestled along the southern slopes of the Pannonian Plain, Fruška Gora National Park is one of Serbia’s most distinctive wine-growing regions. Its gentle hills, forested landscape, and proximity to the Danube create a unique microclimate that has supported viticulture for more than two thousand years.
Fruška Gora is a mountain in north Srem and the first declared national park in Serbia. Most of it is located within the Syrmia region, Serbia, but a smaller part on its western side overlaps the territory of Croatia. Sometimes, it is also referred to as jewel of Serbia, due to its beautiful landscape protection area, nature and its picturesque countryside. Fruska Gora is proclaimed a National Park in 1960 in order to provide its permanent protection and to improve its natural resources and beauty. The area of active protection is 25.525 ha. Fruska Gora is an isolated, narrow, island mountain in Pannonia plain. It is intended by river courses extending to the south and north, with some side ranges with steep slopes, spreading from the main narrow range. Its location, specific geological history and different microclimatic conditions make it very interesting and important to science. Thanks to unique and very rich deposits of fossil fauna and flora, Fruska Gora is called the 'mirror of geological past'.
Sremski Karlovci
Sremski Karlovci is a picturesque wine town where history, culture, and wine come together. Strolling through its baroque streets, visitors discover centuries-old wineries, cozy tasting rooms, and the legendary Bermet wine, once served at royal courts across Europe. Framed by the vineyards of Fruška Gora and overlooking the Danube, Sremski Karlovci offers a perfect blend of charm, tradition, and unforgettable flavors. Its elegant baroque architecture, colorful facades, and landmark buildings like the Patriarchate Court and Karlovci Gymnasium give Sremski Karlovci a timeless, storybook charm.
