ITINERARY:

DAY 1 Explore Belgrade!

​

Explore Belgrade's history, culture, architecture, lifestyle and everything that you might like to know in order to get around. Tour duration 4h.

​

Sights: St. Sava temple, Knez Mihailova Street, Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan park with a spectacular view onto the confluence of the Sava into the Danube, the National Theatre, the oldest restaurant in Belgrade named "?", Orthodox Christian Cathedral Church, the National Museum, Belgrade University, City Hall and the National Parliament, Skadarlija bohemian quarter and much more...

Lunch time at the riverside restaurant.  Optional Belgrade Boat Tour 1.5h (cruising Danube and Sava with story about Belgrade on the rivers). After cruise transfer back to hotel.  Overnight Belgrade.

  

DAY 2  Iron Gate tour

Breakfast in hotel by 9:00. Transfer to Golubac  9:00-11:00, boat ride on Danube river with interesting stories about the area, the place where the Danube is the widest and where Djerdap gorge and Iron Gate begins 11:15-12:15. Sightseeing of Golubac – one of the most beuatiful fortresses in Serbia, we will explore green zone (3 towers, visitor center) 12:30-13:30. Panoramic ride along the Danube river and Djerdap gorge 13:30-14:30, visit to “Kapetan Misa hill” lookout with lunch in village household and time to relax 14:30-16:30. Transfer back to Belgrade 16:30-19:00. Overnight Belgrade.

 

DAY 3  Zlatibor (Stopica cave – Sirogoijno – Gostilje)

Breakfast in hotel and check out by 9:00- Transfer from Belgrade to Zlatibor mountain 9:00-12:00 with refreshment break, visit to Stopica cave 12:30-13:30 (famous by its natural limestone pools, cave river and waterfall). 5 min transfer to  Sirogojno village and sightseeing of “Old village” the first open air ethno museum in Serbia – learn how people used to live back in XVIII and XIX century on the mountain. Lunch time in the village. 20 min transfer to Gostilje waterfalls  and sightseeing 16h-17h (a picturesque village with 20m toll waterfall and cascades of smaller ones). 30 min transfer to Zlatibor mountiain resort, hotel check in, free time and overnight Zlatibor.

 

DAY 4  Sargan 8 train – Mecavnik - Tara National park

Breakfast by 9h. Transfer to Mokra Gora village 45 min (officially the best village in the world by UNESCO 2021), Sargan 8 scenic heritage train ride 10:30-13:00 (heritage narrow railroad that used to connect Belgrade with Sarajevo 100 years ago, today ride is 15 km with 3 photo stops and 1 stop for drink/coffee). Sightseeing of wooden town Mecavnik built by Serbian famous film director Emir Kusturica, sightseeing and lunch time 13:00-15:00. Transfer to Tara National park and sightseeing 15:00-18:00 Banjska rock viewpoint (hike 2 km, easy), Perucac lake, Waterfall Vrelo, Drina river. Coffee break near the famous house on the rock. Transfer back to Zlatibor 18:30-19:30. Overnight Zlatibor.

  

DAY 5  Gold gondola Zlatibor – Uvac canyon - Belgrade

After breakfast check out. 9:00-11:00 Gold gondola ride to Tornik peak 1496m and back, total 18km with photo break at the peak (the longest panoramic gondola in Europe). Transfer 1h to Uvac lake, boat cruise 1h to the canyon, optional hike to the peak meanders and enjoy in view over “Serbian Colorado” and fly of griffon vultures (the biggest community in the Balkans and the main reason why Uvac is declared Special nature reserve protected by Republic of Serbia).   Transfer back to Belgrade in late afternoon/evening. Hotel check in, overnight Belgrade. Cruise back and lunch time in the restaurant near the lake. After lunch approx. 3h transfer to Belgrade with refreshment stop. Hotel check in. Overnight Zlatibor.

 

DAY 6  Novi Sad and Sremski Karlovci

​

Breakfast by 9:00 and check out. Transfer to Sremski Karlovci - a charming wine and baroque town, wine tasting and lunch. 10 min transfer to Novi Sad - Capital of Vojvodina province and European Capital of Culture 2022 where we will spend 2.5h exploring downtown and its beautiful fortress Petrovaradin with amazing view over the city. Check in hotel and free evening.

Overnight Novi Sad.

 

DAY 7 Bye bye Serbia!

Breakfast in hotel and check out by 10:00. Airport transfer 45 min according to the flight schedule.
